WOW! It has been a long time

2014 01 13_4156_edited-1It's been a mere three years since I last posted to my blog, I'm sure you have all been anxiously checking your emails daily just waiting to hear from me.  Well folks, your wait is over!  Since I last posted my daughter has aged three years and is now six, the Broncos lost a very embarrassing Super Bowl, the real estate market has started a comeback and I started my own Real Estate firm, with a total of 1 employee. I guess even Coldwell Banker had to start somewhere. Fortunately for you I was not blogging at that time, so you did not have to read all weighing of the options, should I or shouldn't I, what do you think kind of questions I mulled over for a month or so before taking the plunge.  What really got the ball rolling for me is my friend, Rona Linnenburger, she decided to go back to work one day and contacted the owners of Ziggies Coffee House and became a licensed franchisee and opened her own store in Westminster. She made it seem so easy that I decided to give it a go.  That was back in June of 2014. Six months later a daughter of a friend called me to schedule a meeting, she was getting her real estate licensed and wanted to know if I was looking for a Realtor.  When fate comes knocking like that it is hard to not answer the door, so here we are Jenni Lovins and myself plunging in and enjoying every minute.  She's the one that spurred me on to start blogging again, we will be jointly blogging and telling you our tales. I've told her it is up to her to keep me accountable, good luck Jenni.

I've Got Some Catching Up to Do

First things First- Congratulations to the Pack and all their supporters! We were fortunate to be in Wisconsin when they won against the Bears.  They really are amazing and loyal fans.  You have to admire those folks, that get out there no matter what the weather, to support their team.  The whole state was charged up. We went to a store the day after the game and people were waiting in line for the Championship merchandise to be unloaded, in fact some of them were so excited they were helping the store employees unpack the boxes.  A few of them might take it a bit far, like this guy, gotta love his modesty. This guy is apparently preparing in case the coach decides to send him in

After this Rick and I "ditched" Sam with Grandma and Grandpa and headed to Chicago, what an amazing city. We filled our days with Museums, Shopping and fine Restaurants. If you make it to the city or are fortunate enough to live there, make sure you check out, The Girl and The Goat.  Fantastic restaurant and well worth the wait. We met up with some friends of Ricks and had a great time and wonderful conversation. Met up with an old girlfriend and picked up right where we left off 15 years ago.

Three days after we got home, it was Sam's third birthday. What a celebration! It was like Mardi Gras and lasted for a week For her birthday party we had 10 pre-schoolers running around and being the wise planner I am, gave them all flutes...at the beginning of the party.  I thought the parents and other guests were going to lynch me, next year I know to hand out the flutes as they are walking out the door and not in the door. My wonderful neighbor and friend came over the night before to help me make cupcakes, look at what she did It was so amazing, really a piece of art. I say she "helped me" I cut the marshmallows for the teeth and she did the rest. Sam loves alligators and could not have been more excited.

This afternoon was a little Valentines Day party at her school, and even though today is not her school day, she got to go, see her friends and marvel at all of the homemade Valentines.

So, that wraps up the first half of February, just writing this wears me out...it's Vino time.

Happy VD Day everyone!

Valentines Day Rant

It's February 14th, Valentines Day, again, there is no stopping this holiday so I might as well accept it.  Except...that it irritates the hell out of me. It  just proves to me, yet again, how easily we can all be manipulated by the machine. And what are they really telling us? Ignore your lover all year and make up for it on this one particular day? I'm sorry, call me a cynic but I find Valentines Day a bit lame. "Here you go sweetie, here's a dozen roses, some cheap chocolates and a piece of paper I paid $5.95 for. That proves I love you, now hush up for the rest of the year?"  Please!!!  Give me chocolates on some random Tuesday, just because you were thinking of me.  Send me flowers on May 8th (when they are 1/2 the price they are on February 14th), just to make me smile.  Cook me dinner once in a while, then clean up and let me go read my book, now that says, "I love You!" After all that, I have to say, I have a great husband who "get's" me. For Valentines Day, I got...BOOTS and a Reese's Cup! Sweetie Pie, You Rock!
